Thank you for everyone who joined the first ever German-Israeli Circular Textiles Business Matchmaking Showroom! We were fortunate to have participants from all over the world. We appreciate your presence which added a unique perspective and valuable input.


The event is part of new program for sustainability entrepreneurs, brands, recycling companies, policy makers and other stakeholders who are interested to innovate and reduce waste, explore new waste management methods and promote an innovative circular economy with the focus on the textile sector.
The collaboration between Israeli and German experts in science and industry has a long and successful history. This program will benefit from existing connections and create access to new entrepreneurs from the sustainability and the textile and fashion industries.

Dana is a sustainable industrial designer.
After an in-depth study of the raw material she found that using the fibers of the garments she can produce a new raw material, by priming the fibers and using felting technology to produce sheets. Using the new raw material, she designed integrated furniture.

Nurit Bar-Shai is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher, working at the intersection of art,
science and technology. Her research and artistic practice look into microorganism networks and
communication systems, collective collaboration, emergence, in vitro ecology and biomaterial
fabrications. Bar-Shai is the co-founder of Genspace NYC, community biotech lab in Brooklyn,
NY, where she founded and directed the Arts and Culture program.

MARK POLIKOVSY

Is a Scientist focusing on aquatic plants and microbial interactions, these days he is doing his
postdoc at Weizmann Institute of Science. The disciplines that serve his studies are plant
sciences, chemistry, microbiology, and molecular biology. In his previous studies he focused on bio-engineering especially in biomass processing for translating algae biomass into food, energy sources, and commodities in a sustainable way. Apart from his academic position, he is serving as a scientific consultant for industrial companies and a
scientific mentor of ‘Engineers without Borders, Israel’ and of high school student in the
‘Ecological greenhouse’ in Ein-Shemer.
